The fifth one looks like the one guy is beating the crap out of the other too!

Cool stuff :D

There are better examples on the photographer's website. I can't remember his name, though, and since you stole his pictures and didn't credit him, I can't find it now.

Unlike the shooting-stuff-in-slow-motion, this is just a stupid waste. We know what it looks like when stuff breaks. There's no art in destroying things. What a stupid prick the "artist" must be.

Why did he destroy these figurines?!!??? Why oh why? God tell me . I see that so many others are just as upset and disturbed by this. I beg the the "artist" to stop wasting figurines and time.

Yeah, 'cause those figurine are so valuable. I mean, anything which is massed produced in China and costs $12 per case of 20 must be protected.

It ain't like the guy stuck TNT up the butt crack of Michaelangelo's David, people. He made art of our otherwise bland trinkets which would have been sold at some dollar store or adorned the booths of some Chinese Buffet in New Jersey.

I say the photographer is a genius- and that the haters need a crash-course in global economics before complaining about the horrible waste involved.

To the people who are "disturbed" by this: what is your freaking problem? The artist converted what would otherwise be tacky figurines into something dynamic and interesting. Sure, we know what stuff looks like when it breaks, but we never get to see it frozen in time like this. It would be a bigger waste for these things to sit on some old lady's shelf, gathering dust. The best argument for why these aren't a "waste" is that they're interesting and fun to look at. If you don't agree, go listen to your Lawrence Welk records and dust off your ceramic cat collection and shut up.

Does anyone know anything about these figurines? Maybe they are worth something, or were. My eye always catches things related to kungfu, and I've never seen figurines like this. I'm sentimental about things which cannot be replaced. Good work anyway; it's interesting and obviously elicits emotional response.

Pretty damn tough, I'm a little more curious about the camera though!

To the person who said that breaking stuff isn't art...
Art is supposed to make you feel something, whether you feel happy, sad, intrigued or disgusted. Look at how much his art made everyone feel, and wonder about the ceramic pieces. Oh, you can go to an Asian Market, and get those figures. I have one that looks like the second 1. There are about a million just like it.I don't understand the attachment to a ceramic figure! "What a waste"? Seriously, let go of inanimate objects. I think this artist is brilliant, and these photos really bring life to the figures.

Some of these have got to be photoshopped, the fifth one seems suspicious. It looks too... perfect?

yeah these are bullshit. how can the arms cleave in three places just from the base of the figuring hitting the floor? no chance. way to fake shitty art f-
